New firm focused on protecting core asset of intellectual property to help business owners maximize competitive advantage
SAN DIEGO, August 13, 2013 – Dr. Susan Gorman announced today the launch of Gorman IP Law, an intellectual property firm that uses a proprietary strategic assessment process to help start-up and emerging companies leverage their intellectual property as a competitive tool and better plan for IP-related costs.
Drawing upon her experience as a scientist, a lawyer and a business owner, Dr. Gorman has witnessed first-hand the challenges companies face when the demands of the day-to-day operations keep them from fully leveraging their intellectual property. She created Gorman IP Law with the express purpose of helping innovators achieve the vision at the foundation of their businesses.
“San Diego is a city rich in innovation, but many companies simply aren’t doing enough to protect their greatest asset because they are focused on short-term issues,” said Dr. Gorman. “By identifying the innovation that’s at the core of their business, we ensure that companies engaged in ongoing development will protect their interests for the long run and maximize their profitability as the company grows. We work as part of a team to create and implement a comprehensive strategy tailored to our clients’ unique business needs.”
Gorman is starting the firm after a 13-year-career at the internationally recognized law firm of Birch Stewart Kolasch Birch LLP. The firm is located in the Del Mar Heights area of North County San Diego.
